I found this PDF file that is an essay titled Why is Chinese so damn hard?. If you know anything about the Chinese language it is kind of funny. If you are just thinking about learning Chinese then you probably shouldn’t read this because it will scare you out of the idea without a doubt.

Nice, this is so funny. A lot of this is beyond me too. But I know what he means about the dictionaries! Sometimes you just want to through the damn thing against the wall and learn esperanto instead.
Yes! I have two dictionaries and a chinese word processor that uses radical lookups. There is no consistency between any of them.
